How do I delete a learner in my classroom?

If a student is no longer active or was added by mistake, you can remove them from your ARIS Online (AO) dashboard at any time.

👉 Watch the step-by-step video tutorial

When Should You Delete a Learner?

You may need to delete a student when:

  • The learner has moved schools or changed placements
  • A duplicate student profile was created
  • A student was added to the wrong educator/class
  • You are cleaning up your learner list

How to Delete a Learner

Follow these steps from your AO Dashboard:

  1. Log into your ARIS Online (AO) dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the “Learners” tab in the left-hand menu.

  3. Click the Add New Learner option from the dropdown.
  4. Click on the student’s name you wish to delete.
  5. Click on the red “Delete” button.
  6. A confirmation message may appear asking if you are sure, click Delete Learner to finalize.

After confirmation, the learner will be removed from your dashboard.

What Happens After Deleting a Learner?

  • The student immediately disappears from your learner list.
  • The learner’s data is removed from your AO dashboard view.  This is irreversible.  The learner’s data cannot be added back even if you re-add the learner.

How do I update a Lesson's status to track the lessons my learners are working on?

You can easily move lessons between statuses within your Lessons tab in ARIS Online (AO). This lets you organize what you plan to teach next, what you’re teaching right now, and what lessons have been taught and mastered.

If you prefer a visual demonstration, you can watch the video tutorial here

Where to Find Your Lesson Statuses

In the Lessons tab, you will see four statuses:

  • Upcoming - Lessons identified for the learner to work on, but not ready to be introduced
  • Current - Lessons that are currently being introduced and taught to the learner
  • Maintenance - Lessons that the learner has recently mastered but that you want to periodically revisit to ensure long-term mastery
  • Archived - Lessons should be archived once the learner demonstrates consistent mastery over two additional assessments

Each lesson can be moved between these categories depending on what you’re working on.

How to Move a Lesson Between Statuses

  1. Go to the Lessons tab.

  2. Click on the “Status” filter and select Upcoming. This pulls up all lessons you’ve toggled on for your learner in the “Planning” tab.

  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the right-hand corner of the lesson card.

  4. Select the desired status.
The lesson will now appear under the new status. You can view all lessons in a particular status by clicking on the “Status” filter and the desired status.

This feature allows you to keep your teaching flow organized and ensures you are tracking when a lesson is introduced and when it moves through the rest of the statuses.

How do I clone an assessment to update my learner's progress?

Cloning an assessment allows you to quickly reuse a previous assessment as a starting point when reassessing a student. This saves time and ensures consistency across assessment periods.

Prefer a video walk-through, watch here

Why Clone an Assessment?

Cloning allows you to:

  • Carry over previous assessment data

  • Update only what has changed

  • Streamline reassessment periods

  • Avoid re-entering all fields manually

How to Clone an Assessment

  1. Log in to your ARIS Online (AO) dashboard.

  2. Click on Learners in the left hand navigation menu.
  3. Use the drop-down menu to select the desired learner.
  4. Navigate to the learner’s Assessment tab.

  5. Locate the assessment you want to copy, then click Clone. Then click Clone again to confirm.

A new copy of that assessment will automatically open.

Editing and Submitting the Cloned Assessment

  1. In the newly cloned assessment, you can enter new data and update any existing information that has changed

  2. After reviewing and updating all necessary fields either:
    • Click Save & Close, if you are not ready to submit the assessment.  This will allow you to complete the assessment at a later time and will not alter the lessons recommended for this learner.
    • Click Submit to finalize the new assessment and generate new lesson recommendations for your learner
  3. Confirm your selection.
